installing lunar linux on laptop.


Hi, I am installing lunar linux on my laptop. install is asking me to partitioning the hard drive manually have limited knowledge of doing this with command line instructions any advice welcome

you should use whole disk. I would recomend you posting a screenshot here where are you stuck or just try something, like creating ext4 partition (maybe with "gparted live distro")

I 'm not familiar with Lunar but if you are a newbie you should try easier distro as source distros installation can take a lot of time.. You can try several distros without destroying blank cds with unetbootin.

Thanks for the response I will try to use a easier distro first before trying to install lunar linux

Lunar is one of the few distros I've never tried: probably because the only review listed at Distrowatch dates from 2005 and states that it was the most difficult (and buggy) distro that the reviewer had ever installed! Start with Mint — that seldom gives trouble.

If you have limited knowledge of working with the command line and how to partition a hard drive, you probably shouldn't be attempting to install lunar linux. Learn to crawl before you attempt to fly.
