Installing linux on Dell precision 670 doesn't work
Hi all,
I just got Dell precision 670 with 2 scsi hard drive and when I started installing red hat 9, I couldn't install further more since somehow it couldn't recognise the hard disk. I entered to BIOS setup and tried disable RAID but it still doesn't work.
I went to the internet and I found there is this aic79xx file which I have to download it and copy it to the disk using dd command. So, I did dd command in this way:
dd if=aic79xx-2.0.12-i686-rh9.img.gz of=/dev/fd0 --> is this correct?
Then I put the floppy to the floppy drive when it ask for driver during the beginning of rh9 installation. But, it still doesn't work. After I put the floppy disk to the floppy drive and entered it, somehow it still asking for driver.
Can anyone help me?
have you guys experience like this before?
with kind regards,
hardian
