Installing Limewire with Fedora 7 + addl. basic question

I seem to be having a problem installing limewire with fedora 7. I'm really basic with Linux so if you do decide to help me out please be patient ;p

Limewire says I need java 1.4.1 or >

When I java -version i'm using 1.5

Everytime I attempt to install limewire, errors indicate that I need jre=>1 .4.2

One more really basic question...

when using terminal... i type ls and i see desktop in blue lettering

When i try to access desktop so i can manipulate the files there i get no such directory

i tried everything i could think of.. help?

Maybe try following the instructions here first.

The jpackage-utils has many versions of java including 1.4.2 if it still does not work with the Fedorasolved tut.
Try installing jpackage-utils with command:
Quote:
yum install jpackage-utils
Or
Quote:
yum install jpackage-utils-1.7.3-1jpp.3.fc7.noarch.rpm
You should see these versions after installing this package:

/usr/lib/java-1.3.1
/usr/lib/java-1.4.0
/usr/lib/java-1.4.1
/usr/lib/java-1.4.2
/usr/lib/java-1.5.0
/usr/lib/java-1.6.0
/usr/lib/java-1.7.0

When you type ls to see what is in your home directory, and you see "desktop" change directory to the desktop with command:
Code:
cd desktop
Then type ls again to see what's all on the desktop and go hard.
