Installing LAMP, easier said than done?
 

OK, I want to install LAMP on my test CentOS server before I try to do it on my live production server, just so it can host a couple internal web pages. Searching on the internet, I've come across these 2 articles, which are different. I only have the CLI on my boxes, no GUI's. Are either of these right, or is there better instructions out there to hold my hand through the process? Thanks in advance!

Thanks. Do I have to install phpmyadmin and webmin like the article says, or can i just skip them. we purposely didn't install any GUI's so far, so i'm guessing I should/could just skip those steps to keep everything CLI driven?

The purpose of tools like webmin is (IMO) to soften the learning curve. If you're committed to learning about system/service administration from the command line, then that's to be preferred. If not, install webmin.

Yeah, I really want to learn to do everything from the command line. As much as I'd love a GUI, it'd be too tempting to just use that all the time. Thanks for confirming I can skip those last 2 installs.
