installing kopete 0.7.1 but have no plugins

I have kopete 0.6.1a installed that came with suse. It's in the directory /opt/kde3/bin/. I tried installing the newer version with no success. I uninstalled the version I'm using and installed the newer version. It went in smoothly. It's in the directory /opt/kde3/bin/. I have no plugins though, witch make it useless. The kopete website has help for this but I don't understand.

http://kopete.sourceforge.net/index....ge=installtips

Thanks for any help.

Did you downloaded the new kopete version from SuSE webpage or from somewhere else?

Basically what the page says is to create a file (or edit the file if it already exist) called "kderc" on directory "/etc" with lines that say

[Directories]
prefixes=/opt/kde3

Use "/opt/kde3" if kopete and all its files were installed there, if not locate where kopete was installed and replace "/opt/kde3" with the path where kopete was installed like
"/usr/local" or something like that, or else download the kopete rpm created by SuSE from here

jeez, that's great. Nothing better then a rpm. Thanks a lot. Nice signature by the way.
