Installing Kino

I've been trying to install Kino for DV grabbing. When I run the RPM, it says it's missing libraw1394.so.5 I already have libraw1394.so.8 installed. Should I revert to an older version?

I'm pretty sure you are talking about two different files, not two versions of the same file with different dates. Google libraw1394.so.5 to see what RPM provides it. If there's a dependency, you may have to install both RPMs at once like this:
rpm -Uhv /wherever_you_put_it/*.rpm

Try symlinking the libraw1394.so.8 to libraw1394.so.5

cd to the directory that has libraw1394.so.8 and then symlink it.

Code:
ln -s libraw1394.so.8 libraw1395.so.5
