installing java in usb ubuntu

Hello Linux experts,

I am using usb Ubuntu. I have installed java by using command sudo open... apt-get install. After that, Java was installed successfully. But when I restarted it, there was no Java.

So, Can any suggest my that how can I install java and other software permanantly so that I can't be removed after rebooting the system???

With regards,

Summit

More to the point, "usb Ubuntu" *RUNS IN RAM*!!!! It does NOT execute off of your USB (it would be slower than molasses if it did).

This is a "feature", not a limitation The whole POINT of the USB is to not alter your hard drive. So when you start, nothing is altered. And when you exit, nothing is saved.

If you DO want to save settings, then you can use "persistence":
