I am trying top install an Intel Pro 1000 on Mandrake 10.2 build 2.6.8.1. Everytime I try and run make install it tells me "Makefile:71: *** Linux kernel source not found. Stop." Has anyone seen this before? What am I doing wrong?
You don't appear to have the source code for the kernel installed. So, you should get the package for it, which will likely be on your distro's CDs. However, please be aware that Mandrake 10.2 is now obsolete and you'd be wise to install a newer distro.

Do you know if Mandrake 2009 is supported by vmware? I'll be running Mandrake Server as the host OS. How do you get a different package for the older version? Can you tell I'm a newbie to Linux?
Presumably you mean Mandriva 2009, but no, I don't know if it's supported by VMware. Do you have the CDs for Mandrake 10.2? Seriously though, I wouldn't bother with it.
