installing from multiple cd's in linux

I am trying to install Nightfire game which is a 2 cd install. I am running Ubuntu 8.04(Hardy). When the installer asks for the second cd, I can not eject the first one. I get an error message stating that another application is preventing me from unmounting the cdrom. I have no other applications running when I do an install, so I am guessing the installer is preventing the unmount. How do I get around this problem?

Copy the disks to your hard drive, and install from there. Or just copy CD1 to your hard drive, and put CD2 into the physical drive.

This isn't necessarily a Linux issue, but a problem with the installer. This happens with Oracle installations too, and with lots of other programs that have shoddy installers.
