OK. so you just want the KDE version.

Flash is available via repositories in almost all distros. It's a really demanded piece of software after all.

Its an Asus eeepc netbook and from Control Center it is running ... KDE version 3.4.2 Release 2.6.21.4 - eeepc. And yes it is to load Flash Player for the resident Firefox. I did get something in that area with this info: try getting the RPM from the adobe website. http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/ Download it and save it to the desktop then run it with package manager. When ever possible use RPMs to install (or yum) they work 99% of the time. also try opening a terminal session su root <enter> yum provides *flash* <enter> it should give you a list and look for something like macromediaflash.i386.rpm then type yum install macromediaflash.i386.rpm <enter> and watch the fun... yum will resolve dependencies for you automatically... I cannot find package manager on the machine but can download any of the Adobe Flash Linux programs (.rpm etc.) from their site. Its just that then I dont know what to do. It seems .rpm files are best to use but I am no wiser. Help! |
You need to tell us what distro of linux (not "KDE") you are running.
Is it the original distro that came with the EEE, as unwrapped from the shop, or have you (or someone else) installed a different version of linux? If it is the "original", then it is xandros, but that doesn't come with KDE by default. So I am puzzled. |
You can try install flash manually for your user only, it may be easier:
Download this: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...0_linux.tar.gz Untar it, and put the .so file in ~/.mozilla/plugins then retstart firefox |
