No because i dont know how to do that . But if i downloaded it more than 3 times and it fails everytime it must be something wrong with the actuall file itself not the downloading..

Who knows. Hardware problems (bad RAM) can cause corruption, too.

Ok i managed to get the netinst CD to work. The problem was that i was using the wrong CD type to write the image to. I was using a CD-RW initially but when i tried a CD-R it works.

If i was to use the DVD ISO images, would the 1st be enough for a LAMP installation or do i need all 5 iso images?

I do not think you need to download and burn all dvd images. These are available through repositories as well. So download netinstall, install the minimal and then install the packages that you need from apt.
