Installing Fedora


Hi,

I'm trying to install Fedora. The first disk was installed succefuly but now I have only console window, no GUI.
What should I do?

Which version of Fedora were you installing ?
How many CD do you have ?
Did you use a Live CD /Install CD or install cd only ?
DId you install txet mode or in graphical mode ?

I'm installing fedora 11 (I think). I have installed it from a CD. about the graphical mode or text mode it didn't ask me.

If you use a live cd in the first place it gives you a full working OS .
And afterwards the choice to install it.
ALL in one CD .
Try in the first place the command startx

Is internet connection up i tells su with the message bringing up eth0
during boot up.
If so try as root the command yum install kde or gnome

Honestly, it sounds like your best bet is to redo this. Go to http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-all and choose either the x86_64 or i686 versions under 'Fedora Desktop Live Media'. (If you're not sure, pick i686.) Run through that and you should have a system with a graphical interface.
