Are you talking about DVD playback software, or a physical drive? If software, http://www.pclinuxos.com/wiki/index.php/Playing_DVDs |

The "igal dvd player" is an unknown term. A spell error ?
Please provide a link to where you got it. Or use 'mplayer' or 'vlc' or another Linux player : And do the install with your package manager. You do usually not download software for Linux. And please always tell, which Linux, you are using. http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...Ask_a_Question .. |
Synaptic - Documentation - http://www.pclinuxos.com/wiki/index.php/Synaptic
You add software using a program called Synaptic. The package you need to add is called libdvdcss2. Kaffeine works great to play dvds if you are using the KDE version of PCLINUXOS, in Gnome you can use Totem, or you can use vlc or mplayer in any de/wm. |
ogle and xine let you play dvds with menus. Plus the libdvdcss stuff for encrypted discs.

how any software which is not bundled, but downloaded, can be installed in PC LINUX OS. being new to it, detailed steps needed
|
You should be able to find installation instructions on the website for the software you downloaded..
