Installing Drivers in linux

Hi I am completely new to Linux.

I apologize if my post uses bad terminology or if there are other posts out there which answer my question.

I have the source code for a WiFi adapter for Linux. However I do not know how to install it. I have looked on the net for this information and con not find it. Could some one point me in the right direction?

Another question I have is my terminology correct? I have been searching Google on things like ‘Linux driver installation’ and can not find the information I require.

The best place to get directions is the same place you got the driver from, usually a README file will come with it.
