installing drivers - general how to
 

Does anyone know of a good site with official or close to
official hot-tos on Linux (in particular, the Mandrake distrib.) detailing how exactly to install a driver (for my needs, a video driver and a printer driver)?

Xconfigutor recognized a generic version of my nvidia geforce2, but that seems to have caused some subtle errors which might be cleared up if I had working driver (would they?)...

I found a driver on nvidias website along with instructions that were obviously aimed towards and experienced linux user and utterly cryptic to a :newbie: like myself.

I need a cut-and-dry lesson on how to install the driver and get things running smoother.

Any leads to such how-tos would be much appreciated. Thanks...

Sorry, also try searching the website for GeForce 2 or nvidia. I think that a few threads have sprung up!
