Installing Centos 5 in Intel DG965RY motherboard
Dear gurus
I am trying to install CentOS in IntelDG965RY motherboard with 2gb ram 200gb hdd and core2duo 2.02 GHZ processor but after selection language it ask me to select the media for the installation of package OPTIONS are CDROM HDD HTTP FTP NFS etc and after selecting cdrom it ask me to insert driver or select the near one driver from the list i dont know what to do so please any one help me to get installing CENTOS 5 in that board i am really appreciating the answers can also mail me to bikash@microtech.com.np thanks waiting for the reply |
CentOS is telling you it cannot find a CDROM drive.
This mobo uses a marvell pata chipset. At the boot: prompt, try adding: linux all-generic-ide irqpoll pci=nommconf noapic nolapic If the bios has an option to emulate legacy IDE, use it. http://db.glug-bom.org/wiki/index.ph..._DG965RY_HOWTO Try a very recent distro (AFAIK CentOS leans toward the stability and regularity of a commercial distro over the more bleeding-edginess of the free ones.) ... fedora8, Mandriva2007, Ubuntu 7.10 etc. |
