Installing and Uninstalling -- The basics
Ok. I have a stable install of Mdk-9.1. All of my hardware is working correctly, and my system is completely stable. Now i want to start installing some software so i can actually use it.
Having decided on KDE as my desktop environment, i want to install a p2p app called nicotine. I have downloaded all the necessary depends and i am ready to install. I know that i have some verisions of the software needed, such a GTK and Python. I need to update GTK to the latest version and install PyGTK, a lib needed for nicotine to run. I know how to run ./configure and make and make install. But I dont know how to REMOVE old versions of software. How do uninstall things in Mandrake? |
For software that is distributed as source simply 'cd' to the root of the source directory and type
make uninstall |
Thanks alot. This has been eating at my brain for a long time.
