Installing ALSA on Red Hat

I've tried and for the life of me I cannot get it to work. I've downloaded the latest drivers and libraries but every time I try install them (or even make the install) I get bogus errors in the console.

Here is what I've been doing:

./configure
make
make install

and that's where the errors start.

Can anyone help me out? All I really need is a short tutorial.

Go to freshrpms.net and download the following packages; alsa-driver, alsa-utils, and alsa-lib. For alsa-driver package, you have to select package matching your kernel. Go to official alsa project for installation (through rpm) specific to your soundcarc.
