Installing AdobeReader in Slackware64
Dear LinuxGurus @ LinuxQuestions;
I've just recently installed Slackware64 release 13.1 in my HP6910p laptop for the first time. I am a new to Slackware, a "Slack-Baby" if you will, but I am not new to UNIX/Linux. I've built several desktops and a few laptops using Fedora & UBUNTU. But, I really wanted to get to know the Slackware. I was told that if you really want to learn LINUX, Slackware is the way. Anyway, I realize Slackware provides a PDF reader, but I wanted to learn how to install AdobeReader, which only runs in 32bit, to my Slackware64 platform. In that way, I would learn about dependancies, etc... Can someone help w/ this newbie question? Respectfully, antonio |
if it runs 32bit then run alien bob's AKA Eric Hameleers a slackware contributor-slackbuild.org multilib here read it all scroll to the bottom you will see the pacages
how to copy all of the packages at one task. Quote:
you will find adobe reader very limited to the open source stuff adobe writer is different. I just use open office for that. |
Alternatively you may like to install eVince, also known as Document Viewer. It is more fully featured than Slackware's Xpdf and available as a SlackBuild which builds to a 64-bit executable on Slackware64.
