Installing Adobe Flash Player on Slackware!
Hello ladies and gentlemens! I'm proud to tell you that i finished my SLACKWARE installation. But now I can't install Flashplayer. I googled it, but nothing worked. Also i tried this:
Code:
root@Local:/usr/local/src# cp -v libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox-4.0/pluginsThank you! |
Congratulations on your new installation:)
You don't need to install it manually. Just grab the slackbuild from the /extra directory (either on your installation DVD or online). |
Thanks for your fast reply, I've entered my extra directory but there's no file named slackbuild here.
|
"Slackbuilds" are installation scripts for particular programs.
/extra should contain a file called flashplayer-plugin. 1. copy it somewhere in your home directory. 2. Give it permissions to be executed: chmod +x flashplayer-plugin 3. Run it: ./flashplayer-plugin Which Slackware version have you installed? This link is for /extra in Slackware 13.37 http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/f...ackware-13.37/ and that for Slackware64 13.37 http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/f...4-13.37/extra/ HTH |
Hi,
Look at Alien_Bob's: http://slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/flashplayer-plugin/ SlackBuild package. Quote:

Look at the 'SlackBuild Usage HOWTO'
:hattip: |
@onebuck, I've followed your link, and now whenever loading any page on Mozilla it freezes up, help me :S
Here's output btw: Code:
root@Local:/home/darkizzwow/flash-player-plugin# ./flash-player-plugin.SlackBuild |
Judging by the output that you provided, the flash plugin should be now installed. Have you tried it? Does it work?
|
Any page which have Flash player components is freezing firefox. And then i must use killall firefox-bin :S
|
Oh great ! I did it , the problem was old flash player in PLUGINS folder. So i reinstalled firefox and everything is fine now! thank you guys!
|
Have you removed any traces of your initial flash installation?
