Run it as root

If that's not it, press PgUp to go up in the colsole and read it, then tell us what's happening! Good luck!

I did run it as root...and it still doesn't work...what do you mean scroll up in console cause it won't even let me do that..it terminates the terminal in like 1/2 second.

It kills the entire terminal? Are you running this by typing it in or double clicking on it? Weird.....

It sounds like you are double clicking on the file when you run it. Log into a terminal and then run it so you can see the output.

If I'm wrong and it really does kill the term....sounds like you got something bad going on...that just shouldn't happen.

Oh, and also, if you have a space in the name of one of the directories its in, that can cause problems with installs similar to the ones you note.

Wow.....so it closes the terminal? Now that's weird....hmmm.....try running this:

./(whatever command to run the install)|tee err_record

That will put all of what it says into a normal file called err_record in the same dir as where you ran it. Then post err_record up here

And I'm guessing you've tried re-downloading and extracting this again? And how do you install it?
