Installing a new window manager

I installed IceWM, but when I type "switchdesk icewm" it says "Unknown desktop requested: icewm." I looked in the included FAQ and a few other files but couldn't find any command to put in an .xinitrc file. How do I run IceWM?

In .xinitrc it should just be "exec icewm". Hope this helps.
