Unhappy installing a network printer

Hi,
I am having Red Hat Linux 9.0 in my system. I have to access a network printer from my linux machine. The printer is HP LaserJet 2100/M/TN . I could't find "lpc", "lpadmin" commands in my system.

I used "printtool" to add the printer to my machine. I gave the IP address of the printer, queue type as networked jetdirect and the printer type in the configuration wizard. After finishing everything the "printtool" displays the message

connecting to <ip address> on port 631...

forever.

Do I need a driver for this printer? If it is, from where I can get.

Is there any other way to access this printer from my machine.
