Installing 3rd party Python modules

I apologise in advance for the newb question, but I need some help installing extra modules in python. I installed Ubuntu (Feisty) a few days ago and have been impressed, but to fit it on to one cd I dont get an awful lot of extras for software. I would like to install some new Python modules, mainly PIL and tKinter, but I dont know how! Could anyone give me some help?

I'm pretty sure there are many installation manages on Your system already.
Synaptic package manager is one for instance ;)

Thank you very much. I was under the impression that the only thing for this was the add/remove programs app. God Linux is cool.
