Installing 108.11b under rh8.0

Hi,

I've just installed rh 8.0 and i wish to set up a wireless n/w at home. I am not sure what drivers are available for the 108.11b cards available in the market.

Could someone tell me which wireless cards(*108.11b) are supported under linux, where i can find the drivers and any HOW-TO guide if any at all to set up such a wireless n/w under LINUX and essetially how to set-up a secure wireless n/w

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Abhi

Do you mean 802.11b?

I can't speak for all of 'em, but I succesfully use Cisco 350, Cisco 4800, and Linksys WPC11 PCMCIA devices. Drivers are available through vendor websites. One thing, if you're using WEP it's a bit more complicated (as you'll be using software utilities instead of just drivers).

Much luck...

Do you recommend one over the other ? I wanna buy one that works well on both windows and linux.

I actually meanth 108.11b(wifi standard). From where can i get the CISCO routers or wifi cards. I have looked around in best buy but haven't come across any CISCO.

Also, how hard is it to setup a secure wifi n/w. Any documentation would help .

Thanks a lot !!
