I just installed Salix KDE. The install went well, afaIk...
Salix does not appear on the grub, and I in fact have no way of knowing if it even exists on my machine. I have not checked anything via the console. I do not know how.
All other OS's on the HDD are present on the grub, and are unaffected.
I am running Kubuntu 10.04 LTS currently.
Please teach me how to use my console to check my install and make that install visible, and operable.
Thank you, bon. But I don't know how to do that, even...
I pretty much need to be told exactly what to enter in console, and what to look for, and what to post here. I should know some of this by now, but I can be a lazy note-taker...

I assume this went well? Time to reboot and find my Salix? (Salix would be the Slackware-based entry)
Yeah, Better to start a new thread for editing Grub 2 (no simple task) I abhor grub 2 to the point that I even use Grub Legacy whenever possible and if not. Then grub4dos even.
