Installed Mandrake 10.1 - ""There is no action associated with..."

Greetings,

I installed Mandrake Linux 10.1.

Programs I download will not run.

I downloaded and decompressed Firefox. When I double-click "firefox-installer" nothing happens. When I double-click "firefox-installer-bin", I get an error saying "There is no action associated with "firefox-installer-bin".

I get the same error from the Eistein@Home screensaver I downloaded.

Please Help

You can find the installation instructions for Firefox here:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/fire...ses/1.0.3.html

Basically, you need to run the installer from the command line. Open a console window, cd to the directory containing the installer and run ./firefox-installer

I don't know about the screensaver, but you probably need to do something similar.

Hello,

When I try to run something in Terminal, it says "bash: run: command not found".

Thanks

Ah, sorry. "run" isn't actually a command. Just type the name of the program you want to run (in this case ./firefox-installer).
