installed fedora and it boots! BUT still has a few more problems =(

Hello, i finally managed to install fedora and boot it after 2 days. I have a sata raid 0 with winxp loaded and a master ide drive with fedora loaded. The problem is that whenever i want to boot fedora i'd have to go into bios to change the boot order to the master ide. Is there a way to configure either the bootloader for windows or GRUB to be able to load into the other OS? I have 6 hard drives in my computer and i'm not really sure which one is which in linux. I think my master IDE is hda. Anyway, thanks for any info!

using your fedora disk it would be a good idea to use grub or lilo to boot your winxp on the other drive. This is possible, just read an faq on grub or lilo depending on which one you want to use.

I do believe that windows has to be the same drive you installed the grub/lilo mbr on . . .if you ever get that working plz give us an answer as I haven't been able to google it.

Boot manager

If your windows XP is on /dev/hda

then boot into fedora, log in as root and type '/sbin/grub-install /dev/hda

and reboot

it should detect all bootable OS's and give you a boot manager when you restart your computer

Hi, i managed to boot between winxp and fedora using a little trick. It might not work for you depending on what mobo you use. Right before windows loads, if you press F8, a little boot selector will appear (not the windows bootloader). On this screen, I can choose which drive to boot from. If I want to boot linux i can use my master drive, if I want windows, i can use my raid array. It's not a perfect solution but it works just like a grub. Anyway, let me know if you guys have a better idea!
