Installation question

Hi, I'm a complete newbie to Linux but am an intuitive learner--I want to learn as much as I can. I managed to install Linspire (formerly Lindows) using PartitionMagic 8.0, but found that I prefer Knoppix. My question is this: can I simply install Knoppix (using the script provided) over Linspire without "uninstalling" it first? I don't know how to delete the contents of the Linux partition (nor the swap file). Do I have to delete the partition and re-partition it? Does anyone know if the Knoppix installer will force a partition? Any help will be much appreciated.

i'm not familiar with the knoppix installer, but most give the option of formatting partitions before installing. provided that you were happy with the partition (# and sizes) that you had for linspire, i see no problems with leaving the partitions as they are.
