For all distributions I've tried, I've had trouble with needing network drivers for a Realtek card, but unable to access the internet to acquire them; and my USB 2.0 ports do not work. Ultimately, my work-arounds were to install a new Linux-friendly network card and to purchase a new Logitech Unifying keyboard/mouse package to free up a working 3.0 port. No answers yet; just work-arounds.

It depends on how you define the problem. A lot of times you're taking a brand new computer and slapping a distro which released 2 years ago onto it. Of course there's going to be issues. I got my hp stream 11 in November of 2014 and could make due with unstable wifi drivers, although I did eventually buy a usb to ethernet adapter. Around July 2015 the firmware for the wifi got an update that made it stable. And in Jan 2016 I got a 2nd hp stream 11.

These are all really interesting issues. I know I haven't had any install issues with Linux before. I always followed the instructions for it. I've had windows installation errors many different times. Last time I was installing windows 10 and it wouldn't install, was giving me a strange error message. Apparently it doesn't like having more than one hard drive inside the PC during that install. I unplugged one of the drives and it finished the install no problem.

Thanks guys!
