Installation problem with Fedora 18 KDE

First this is my first attempt at dual booting a computer and I'm very new to Linux.

I'm trying to dual boot Fedora 18 KDE spin and Windows 8 on a new computer I just bought (HP, AMD FX-6200 Six-core, 1.5TB HDD). I shrank the C drive using the windows disk manager and then booted from the LiveDVD. The install of Fedora got to the partition scheme where I agree to do the preselected LVM scheme and then I get a error message that reads "Anaconda 18.37.11 exception report". Bugzilla Bug 895644 - BootLoaderError: bootloader install failed. So I rebooted and tried again with the same result. An internet search later someone suggested trying Fedora 17 instead because of changes to the installer. The fedora 17's liveCD wasn't booting correctly. I tried Linux Mint 14 make sure it wasn't just a Fedora thing, but Mint wouldn't detect any of my partitions.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

win8
is secureboot enabled ?

secureboot is a veiled attempt to kill off installing any other OS besides win8

do a search on the FedoraForum for " win8 " and " secureboot "
http://www.forums.fedoraforum.org

and if this is an ARM laptop

forget about dual booting
you use win8
or flash everything ( to remove the secureboot firmware) and install linux

I did disable secureboot, I'm sorry that it skipped my mind to include it in the original post. That's my fault.
