Installation of Ubuntu 7.10 (Urgent)
 
Please i am new to Linux.I dont know anything about it at all.I want to install Ubuntu 7.10 on a laptop that i already have a Windows Vista running on it,but i have 3 partitions C,D & E.I have deleted the D partition,which i reserved for the installation of Ubuntu.Pls i dont know what next to do.I need help urgently.Thank you.

Why is this urgent? Hint: That word makes some people simply move more slowly.....

Assuming you already have the installation CD, simply boot from the CD and follow the instructions.
If you don't have a CD yet, you might want to consider getting a more current version.

I am a newbie too.

You could have tried Wubi. Its very simple.

Download Wubi in to one of your partitions (really not necessary that they should be empty! You could have windows stuff also in it!). And follow the instructions very simple. :)
