Ok. Definitively a network problem. The first error means your machine does not resolve Domain Names (DNS). In linux the DNS is set automatically upon connection and the IP of the DNS servers are written in /etc/resolv.conf.

The second error means there is a problem with the network gateway. Is the machine the same from which you're connecting to LinuxQuestions (I mean: are you sure it is connected to internet)? Please, show us the output of

and
Code:
ifconfig -a
Feel free to mask out the actual IP of your machine by changing the IP with XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (in respect of your privacy).
