Installation Instructions - A Basic Linux Server
 

Any documentation, tutorials available online for building the most basic Apache server, in ubuntu or suse?

Since the machines only purpose would be to operate as a web server, it seems allot of additional overhead could be trimmed. Problem is, as a novice (eager to learn however) I don’t know which or what files, programs, etc. are needed by the system.

In the same design, I wish to also build a basic database server (postgresql), again, not sure what has to be installed and what is just overhead?
