Installation help needed !!!

I have downloaded Ubuntu 9.10 4 times from various sites and have burn the ISO on CD.
Half way during the installation a message jums up concerning faulty CD or faulty CD ROM and that ubuntu can't continue coppying files from CD which in this case it doesnt apply, as my CD ROM is in good order.
Any Idea? .... any Help on the matter?
I have been dissapointed after noumerous tries installing UBUNTU.
Thanks in advance

On the first screen that appears after you boot, select "Check CD for errors." If you're having a hard time burning a good CD, Canonical will send you one for free! Another option is to create a Live USB flash drive: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...n/FromUSBStick

Also make sure that your computer meets the recommended minimum hardware specs for Ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...emRequirements

Hi Billy,

It might be that the CD-ROM is not fully supported by the installer's drivers, does this machine have other OSs on it? I am assuming it has Windows, you are aware Ubuntu can be installed from within windows right?

For installing ubuntu from within windows you should check out http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-wubi
