Then the CDROM or DVD wasn't downloaded or burned like it should have. Most ISO's you download are accompanied by a MD5 or SHA1 sum so you can check that what you downloaded is OK.

Basically it goes like this: read docs, make backup, choose bootloader, resize partitions if no space is left, create partitions to install into, chose partition carefully where to write the Linux bootloader code. If you search LQ or the 'net for terms like "dual boot howto" you'll find some. Most "older" (but still useful) ones reside at www.tldp.org. For instance if you installed mcrsft first, see http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+NT-Loader.html else see for instance the http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Multiboot-with-GRUB.html.

Assuming that you downloaded the disk image, be sure that you used the "burn from iso" option. If you put the CD in under Windows and browse it, you should see multiple files and folders.

You don't say where in the process that you got the error message......

Do you specifically need RHEL?

It is always something.

After you get a CD burned as an ISO image file and get it to boot, this might be of interest.

Hi,
Thanks for giving reply.During the installation process at the begining I got Media Check Test Screen. When I click on that Media check Test button I got the following message finally.

Media Check Result

The Media Check FAILED for the image:
RedHat Enterprise Linux Server 5 DVD

The image which was just tested has errors. This could be due to corrupt download or a bad disc.If applicable, please clean the disc and try again.

Its installed in a Text mode but not in a Graphical mode.Is there any solution to get Graphical mode installation???whats the problem exactly with my system???

My System Configuration

When you burn the image next time burn it at X4 or slower.
