Linux newbie on a fresh install of ubuntu.

When trying to enable my Nvidia drivers from system/admin/hardware drivers I enter a Installation/removal dialog and it hangs up.

nvidia-glx: subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 2

Details:

removing nvidia-glx
dpkg-divert: error checking `user/lib32/libGL.so.1' No such file or directory

dpkg: error encountered while processing:
nvidia-glx

I also tried to remove it/reinstall it in Synaptic package manager and once again got

Any help would be appreciated.

you don't mention what version you are using.

Did you try running the live cd with it and see if it can load properly?

Also 7.04 is rock solid and I haven't had many issues with it, maybe try installing that version first?
