installation by copying it from one machine to another machine

Dear Linux users,

I am trying to install one of my program in a IRIX server. But I could not able to install it properly, it was showing me some compiler errors. I want to know one thing that if I copy the same program running in another machine that has same configuration and everything to run my program?

Both the machines are same and I don't know why I am getting errors while installing. Anyone could suggest me will my idea work or if it has to work what and all I should do? Many thanks in advance.

You can see program dependencies with ldd.
Quote:
ldd program-name
Quote:
man ldd
Ensure that both machines have the same libraries required.
strace can show you which files are accessed ; ensure that the files are present at the right place.
Quote:
strace program-name | grep "^open("
Quote:
man strace
I can't help with the compilation errors without the exact error message.

Thank you Agrouf,

I am posting the errors with this message, what I am still wondering is the same server is partitioned in to two and same configurations and compilers, but why my program is not getting compiled.

The error message as follows,

Whan you say that both machines are the same, does this mean that the hardware is exactly the same and that the hard drive contains the exact copy of the other hard drive minous the program you are trying to install?

Thank you for your interest Agrouf,

Actually a single server is partitioned in to two. SGI Altix 350 with 32 processors (itanium 64 bit) has been biparted in to two. All are same between the two without my program. I hope this is what u need. Thanks once again.

If everything is exactly the same and one works while the other doesn't work, it must because of some corruption in the files on the one which doesn't work.
I would suggest something like reinstalling the fortran compiler or checking for file or memory corruption.
