install VLC to yellow dog linux does not work
 

Hello

I tried to install VLC to my ps3 running yellow dog 6.2.

I went through this tutorial

When i was done, the installation of "yum install vlc" stated successfull and in menu applications -> sound and video i can se VLC.

But when i click it, nothing happends.
I think something is happening, because ps3 is getting more slow. and if i dubble click computer on the desktop it takes time to open.

What has gone wrong ? what can i do to make it work. Please help.. i am complete linux noob

I tried though to start vlc from Shell. Typing vlc and it seams to start, i can write vlc -help and se all commands.

But still for graphical version, to select vlc from menu, does not work.

Any ideas?

Still not anybody who have a clue where i can start to see what the error is??

The guide was intented to version 6.1
 

and you are using 6.2. this could cause problems.
I am also using 6.2 and trying to install vlc.
I'll let you know if I find anything.
