Yikes, strictly speaking you want to be miles away from it. You also want to be using an up to date version of Fedora; we can't offer help on something out of date- most of our advice comes from past experience and looking on our own systems, and no one is going to roll back to FC8 to help. Sorry.

By the way, though, are you looking for a telnet server or client?

Christ, really? Well, two things; upgrade Fedora. And don't- if you're using Telnet you're doing it all wrong, but thats more a caveat.

But yes, upgrade Fedora and if it isn't fixed by then someone should be able to point you in the right direction

Use ssh instead of telnet. Should be installed and ready to go. Telnet is usually disabled and ssh enabled by default.

if you really want to use telnet server which is really unsecure,it's up to you. try to yum it or from the package, search for legacy network server. I think that's included on that category.not sure though.

As above:

1. don't use telnet, it's plain text inc passwds; too easy to exploit; use ssh
2. F8 is way old; hasn't been updated in yrs. Get a current version (F12 ?)
