sudo apt-get update command not working


help me friends
I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 and I tried running sudo apt-get update but I get the below error:

Unhappy install sudo apt-get install synaptic problem help me dear :(

I don't think not having Synaptic is typical for Ubuntu.

Try downloading libept source and compiling it, then try installing synaptic again.

and
not working some command
sudo apt-get install update/upgrade
and not install vlc play
