Install Slackware over Mandrake: Problems

I wanted to convert my mandrake to slackware. I put in the boot disk, rebooted, and installed. The installation finished without error, except it didn't ask me to setup Lilo. After I finished the install and rebooted, I was irritated to see that the comp was trying to start up mandrake (I saw the madrake logo at the top of the screen) and after it tried to boot, it gave me the message: Loading linuxEBDA too big.

I put in the boot disk, booted into slackware, ran lilo, set it up using defaults, and checked the lilo.conf file. Everything was okay. I rebooted and got the same error. Any ideas?

you could try formatting your mbr and installing slackware.
i don't know how to do it from linux, but you put in a dos bootdisk and type
"format MBR" and that should do it.
