install prog in fedora
 
hi
i download rpm packages for fedora 8 after install i can not see my program in application list?
and how can create vpn connection in fedora(ipsec&pptp)

Welcome to LQ!!

Did you download and install with the package manager? (Always try that first). If you downloaded a file separately, did you then install it with the rpm command?

I don't remember specifically, but I think that you might have to log out and log in again for an application to appear in the menus---and then only if you used the package manager. You can always use the menu editor to add the application.

For VPN, first try searching using the package manager---there are several open-source VPN clients available.

i install pptp 1.7.1-3fc8.i386 and install but i can'nt see it on menu also i install firestarter it install correct but pptp not?

You did not say if you used the package manager. Even if you did, Fedora may not treat this as something that should be in the menus. (If you don't use the package manager, nothing will be added to the menus automatically.)

Have you tried running it from a terminal?

some programs install correct but another....
for example i can'nt see vpnc in internet programs? but it install correct.
