install problem
 
Totaly new to linux. I have burned os4 to dvd and it loads fine but will not finish install or finish other options.
Older dell laptop with 256 memory and clean 30g hard drive.

Which version of Linux do you have? I googled OS4 and it mentioned Zorin and Xandros.

The problem is probably the amount of memory you have: most distros want more than 256MB. Zorin needs 512, for example.

CrunchBang is a very friendly distro that would run on your machine. Another choice would be the Xfce version of Mint:

Ok...no idea what you mean by "os4". RedHat 4? Fedora 4? RHEL4? Debian 4? Which??? What "other options" are you talking about? What does it do, and when does it do it?

Without some exact error(s) to go on, and something more than "dell laptop", there's not much we can tell you.
