Install package in a bulk


Hi All,

If I would like to install all package that the name begins with mysql ( includes mysql server , mysql client ... ) in a bulk , I tried the command yum install mysql* but is not work , would advise what can I do ? thanks

Use single quote marks, so the wildcard is interpreted by yum, not the shell

yum install 'mysql*'

but you might want to use the "groupinstall" command

yum --help
man yum 
yum grouplist

It seems the following two method is fine , would advise which one is better if I would like to install all mysql modules ? thanks

yum install 'mysql*'

yum groupinstall mysql
