When I attempt to Install the Nvidia driver for the GTX780 graphics card, it goes through the process.
But when I reboot, I get a black screen and can't go any further. I need to use the Nvidia driver because it is required to run LIghtworks, a video editing program.
I found some info that was written 6 years ago, but would like some newer info.
I'm using Linux Mint 17.3, which is the newest release.
I tried Mint and CentOs and was able to load the correct driver using terminal. But there was an error that kept popping up after some later software updates, and I ended up trying Ubuntu. Could not have been easier, because I was able to successfully load the Linux Nvidia driver for my home-brew box, using Software & updates/Additional Drivers. I just selected the Niidia 352.63 driver and Applied Changes and rebooted. Works fine, then got Lightworks and that installed correctly also. Software Updates also loaded some kind of Intel processor firmware microcode as well.
