Install Mustek Digital Camera
 
Hi, i AM ON mandrake 9.1 and I want to install a Mustek digital camera can you tell me how to do it please. Thankyou:study: :scratch: :cry:

if it has usb go to your shell
do a su
then
connect your cam to your usb port turn it on and type
mkdir /mnt/yourcamdir
mount /dev/sda0 /mnt/yourcamdir
if you want write access for all users do the following instead of the above:
mount umask=000 /dev/sda0 /mnt/yourcamdir

Thankyou very much for your help I will try that tommorrow. My mate bullied me into linux mandrake 9.1, installed it running away giggling when I asked him how to do things. I think he is what you would call a Linux snob!!!!! The night has started well on my trip through linux territory and I think now I will abandon Windows completely. Thanks again Mat:) :newbie: :)

well you've found the #1 resoucre in my opinion. for answers to ?'s. we don't want you giving up to soon, so, here are a couple of other useful links to help you along the way.

http://www.google.com/linux this has google do a search related to just linux.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/search.php most important, this is the lq search feature. you'll find that just about any ? you can think of has been asked in some form. just think up a few and try them out if you don't believe me.
