Install MoreAmp-0.1 29(-bn) with wxWidgets-3.0.2 tar.bz2 in Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS 64 Bit

Hi Linuxusers, after 20 years of using Windows I decided to change to Linux, because I have enough of this worst OS and two friends of mine have good knowledges of Linux and one of them is a Linux Administrator in an enterprise and working now over 10 years with Linux.

It's only two weeks ago that I have installed Ubuntu and I am really surprised, what a secure and really fascinating open source OS Linux has been and is developed in nowadays.

I would like to use a parametric equalizer for my music (mp3 and FLAC) and at sourceforgenet.org I found Moreamp.

Please give some advice, where in the net, here at LQ or ubuntuusers or googling I could find instructions how to install MoreAmp under the conditions of the headline or installing another equivalent parametric equalizer software.

For your answers I thank you so much in advance. I will invest a lot of time to learn the commands for the terminal and really contribute my experiences with Ubuntu at LQ.

Have a nice time, alfreditoelloco

From looking over the SourceForge site, I get the impression that there are no MoreAmp binaries for Linux (only for Windows & Mac) and that you have to compile the program from source. Do you know how to do that? The file you want would be MoreAmp-0.1.29-src.tar.gz. It may be the case that you have to compile and install wxwidgets first. So basically you have to untar the tarballs and go through the configure, make, make install routine. Do you know how to do all this? If not there are plenty of on-line tutorials that will help you.

MoreAmp-0.1 29(-bn) : What is "(-bn)"

"with wxWidgets-3.0.2" : What makes you think that wxWidgets version 3 can be used ?

Please supply some links with the information you have found.
