Install Mandriva Spring 2008 64 bits over mandriva 2007 free 32 bits
 

I have a computer that have Win XP and mandriva 2007 Free in dual boot via Lilo.
I have a some questions: Can I install Mandriva 2008 64 bits in the partition of Mandriva 2007 and everything will remain running OK? I use Lilo dual boot. Will it remains running? Will the new installation offer me the choice to install a dual boot manager again? If affirmative, may I choose GRUB?
Simple questions, no?

Everything should remain ok. There are no guarantees as with installing anything. Make sure you do a backup of data you don't want to lose. As long as you keep your home partition then you will retain your desktop settings. As far as I am aware, you still keep the dual boot option and the default bootloader is grub.

I was thinking about the answer and have new question:

Originally when I installed Mandriva 2007 i had windows on the MBR. Now I'm want to install Mandriva 2008 64 bits with GRUB in a PC with dual boot with LILO.

Will this OK? I'll replace LILO by GRUB... And the GRUB dual boot will run ok with another dual boot installed??? Will GRUB find winds IPL program in another place than MBR???
