Install Kernel 2.6.5.15 to Slackware 10.1
 

Hi everybody. I m trying to install Kernel 2.6.15.5 to Slackware 10.1 on my laptop pc and when i finish and reboot the system, this error comes out:
Kernel Panic ... can not mount root fs to Uknown Device (some nymbers).

The commands i follow for the installation was:

make menuconfig
make
make modules
make modules_install
make install

then i run liloconfig and i reinstalled lilo to the MBR.

Anyone knows what is wrong. I think that i must change something so the system can mount the root filesystem to hard disk. But I don't know what?

You need to create a new initrd:
ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar.../README.initrd
